Cairns

Highly recommended day trip that goes on a historic train to Karunda area. Takes two hours to get there from the Cairns train station which is located behind the Cairns Central shopping centre. Once you book, you need to get a physical ticket from the train station booth. Nice relaxing trip, bring water and snacks with you. Easily spend two to three hours in Karunda at the many markets there.

I highly recommended this tour, it was around 4 hours drive including return and stops, so we have more than 6 hours to explore. We visited many places like the cape, Trinity Beach, Daintree Rainforest, and the George. We also swam at the George and our tour guide is amazing who told us interesting information about the places we visited and shared with us interesting stories.

The ferry ride was a bumpy one due to weather conditions but eg crew members were very kind and helpful during the entire ride. Half day is only enough for one activity (glass bottom boat OR snorkelling OR check out the shorter hiking trail), if you would like to experienced the beautiful island to its fullest it’s better to book the full day return transfer.

A great day out! There are lots to do and look at in Kuranda and the Skyrail/Rail package is the perfect way to get there and back. We also really appreciated the complimentary hotel transfers - the driver was very informative and had lots of great tips to share. The day started with a 10:20 am pickup from our hotel and we then took the short 15 min drive out of town to the Skyrail Station. I recommend downloading the Skyrail app before jumping on, as it gives you a free audio tour as you travel above the rainforest in the Skyrail. The Skyrail stops twice, Red Peak and Baron Falls, where you can enjoy a short (couple 100m) boardwalk through the rainforest before continuing. You will arrive in Kuranda around 12:00-12:30 pm. This ticket also allows you to take your time exploring Kuranda before getting on the 3:30 pm train back down the mountain. The train is a slow tip with many great photo opportunities and running commentary along the way. A nice relaxing way to spend the afternoon. You will arrive at Freshwater Train Station around 5:00 pm where you will be met by your hotel transfer.

This was the best group tour i have been on . Thanks to our guide Simon and Tim . Our group of 10 would have been a handful for anyone else but Simon was so knowledgeable he had everyone captured on every word.
