Seattle was considered to be one of the fastest growing cities in the United States and has transformed into a melting pot of various cultures from Native Americans, Scandinavians, Africans, and Asians. Logging, shipbuilding, aircraft engineering, and businesses like Microsoft and Amazon have served well into the development of this metropolis.

The city even played an important role as the birthplace of a global cultural and musical phenomenon known as the Grunge Movement led by the legendary rock band Nirvana. It also has an ever-evolving artistic community comprised of musicians and slam poets.
