Booking guidelines

  • As JR West Japan E-ticket is directly connected to the facility, there are limitations to the format of the customer name.
  • Please be noted the format when filling in. Otherwise, it will affect the system to issue tickets automatically.
  • Fill in the English or Pinyin name of the guest's passport. The Chinese font input is not allowed (avoid characters such as \ t \ n); 2. Press the "Space Bar" to enter space in the middle of the name, do not use the "Tab" to enter; 3. A ticket will be issued automatically within 5 minutes after payment is made. If the ticket cannot be issued in time, please ask for the operator during working hours.

    • Pass eligibility

  • The user must be holding a passport issued by a foreign government. *Includes customers who have Alien's Permanent Residence Permit.
  • Japanese customer is not allowed to use it.
  • User must be entering Japan as a "Temporary Visitor”. *"Temporary Visitor" is a status of residence defined under Japanese immigration law.
  • Study permits and work permit holders are not allowed to use them.
  • If the reserved seat cannot be used due to seats full and other reasons, the price difference between the non-reserved and the reserved seat is not refunded.

    • How to use

  • A confirmation email will be sent to the appointed email address once the booking is made.
  • Please go to the green ticket-vending machines of stations or counter (green window) and redeem the physical ticket by scanning the QR code of the e-ticket and non-Japanese passport.
  • Available stations: Kansai Airport, Kyoto, Shin-osaka, Osaka, Toyama, Kanazawa, Fukui.
  • Operation menus of the machine can be displayed in Japanese, English, Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, or Korean.
  • Use the physical ticket to pass through the automated ticket gate.
  • A reserved seat ticket can be issued once the ticket is redeemed. Please follow the instruction here
  • For customers to redeem the ticket at the green window counter, please tell the staff the time they want to take it.

  • If the machine breaks down or the passport has no IC chip, please proceed to JR-WEST Ticket Office to redeem the physical ticket.
  • The customer name on the ticket doesn't affect redemption when they redeem at the ticket machine, but if they redeem at the counter, the passport name and the customer name on the ticket must be the same when redeeming.
