What to expect
Your day of incredible extreme adventures in Kitulgala, West of Sri Lanka, begins with an early wake up call as you get picked up from your Kandy hotel. You'll arrive at Kitulgala for breakfast, and once you're ready, you'll begin your trek to the natural rock pools at Kataran Oya. On the way, you can admire the diversity of local flora and fauna, spot local species, and hear the birds calling across the rainforest. Enjoy jumping into any of the seven natural pools or sliding down the waterfalls to make a splashdown into the water. The waters are cool, clean and ensconced in peaceful forest surroundings, and once you're done there, your guides will help you try out some canoeing. You will be given a safety briefing beforehand as well as safety equipment, so brace yourself for a real ride. This 5km white water rafting experience in Kelani River is a heartstopping thrill ride, where you'll plow through 5 major rapids and 4 minor rapids. After getting pounded by the waters, you can take a break by eating a traditional local lunch, where the local fare and delicacies will be a relief after all the excitement. After that, it's time to relax. Take an easy swim in the river to admire the picturesque surroundings, or relax at the shore to study the surroundings that have made Kitulgala so famous for its natural beauty. You'll trek back to the base in Kitulgala before being taken back to Kandy, and thereupon dropped off at your hotel.
